July 2016 NAUI SCUBA Course at the YMCA Checkout Dives.

Over two days, we dove Rainbow River in Dunnellon followed by a ledge in the Gulf of Mexico called Grove Ledge. We really missed Sabrina and Christina and our Dive Master-in-Training Josh, but had some great dives. Congratulations to Jennifer, BJ, Caleb, and Michael for becoming the latest addition to the EcoDivers family and the world of SCUBA. Thanks again to Jack Farrell at Fun Travel & Dive for taking us out Sunday!

Way to go Devin, Kyle, Amy, and Johnathan. For our checkouts, we dove the beautiful Rainbow River and Hudson Grotto. Most would agree, two completely different environments. Thank you Josh Weaver for your assistance!

Oct 2015 (NAUI Openwater Checkout Dives)-YMCA Class

Saturday we went to Jack's Hole in the Gulf of Mexico. This sandy depression is surrounded by sea grass and critters. We were forced to stay inshore again on Sunday and revisited Jack's Hole. Got to see a scorpion fish among some other amazing little creatures. Congratulations to Jojo & Cat!

Saturday we went to Rainbow River and conducted the majority of our skills followed by a beautiful snorkel back to KP Hole. Sunday, we explored Hudson Grotto and discovered a new boat sunk by ScubaWest. Congratulations to Josh, Jason, Heather, Ernie, & Janet!

October 2014 (NAUI Advanced Scuba & Nitrox Checkout Dives)

Our first dives were at Hudson Grotto. There we completed our Navigation dives, our Search & Recovery dives where students used lift bags. On our night dive we visited the newly sunken boat at then descended to 60ft were we explored the white limestone face of the Grotto!

Our next dives took us to the Gulf of Mexico where we ventured to the resting place of the Sheridan. This 150ft tug is situated almost upright in 85 ft of water and on this day was loaded with barracuda. We followed that dive up with one to the Clearwater Wreck site where we were engulfed by thousands of juvenile tomtate grunt and other pelagic planktivores. Great job to Josh Weaver and Rob Ellis and thank you Steve Casel for joining us. We used Narcosis Scuba and always the crew and Capt Mike took awesome care of us!
